The 11th International Conference on Applied Informatics

to be held in Eger, Hungary

Greetings

Welcome message of the dean of the Faculty of Informatics

Dear ICAI-2020 Participant,
I warmly welcome you on behalf of the community of Faculty of Informatics of Eszterházy Károly University.

Our recently established Faculty is on the one hand responsible for the university's mathematics and informatics courses and on the other hand it is the research and development center of these fields. Our building – the venue of the conference – is home to more than 60 of our teaching and research staff and over 1,000 students.

In addition to students with computer science and mathematics major, our professors also teach a number of courses to students from other faculties. As a teacher, the priority for all of us is professional readiness, a student-friendly attitude, the fullest possible transfer and joint study of knowledge and the beauty of science. We regard our students as equal partners and prospective colleagues.

In the field of research, we are guided by the joy of discovering science: by recognizing the intrinsic beauty of mathematics and clarifying the theoretical questions of informatics, we strongly hope to advance science. Needless to say, computer science and information technology are interwoven in our everyday lives, so the application of results are considered to be of utmost importance.

We strive for effective, fruitful and interdisciplinary cooperation with universities in Hungary, in Europe and around the world, because we strongly believe that we cannot succeed in education and research with a fragmented approach that focuses on narrow, local efforts. Like every university, the essence of Eszterházy Károly University must be to show the unity and universality of knowledge - to which we wish to add as much as we can in the Faculty of Informatics. ICAI-2020 can be a further step in this cooperation and commitment.

Finally, I would like to thank you for participating in this prestigious conference. We are proud to welcome you and all the participants of ICAI-2020.

Eger, 20/01/2020

It is my sad duty to let you know that Prof. Csőke passed away last year, but his dream, having a successful informatics conference together with University of Debrecen, lives with us!
